Tungsten wire and coils (tungsten evaporation coil)
Whether for simple incandescent lamps, general-purpose or special halogen lamps: all of them need incandescent filaments made of dimensionally stable tungsten wire. The requirements placed on the material in terms of durability, light yield, reliability and mechanical stability are enormous. Our tungsten wire deserves its name due to its high creep resistance.
The baskets and filaments are manufactured from high grade tungsten. Of all metals in pure form, tungsten has the highest melting point (3422°C / 6192°F), the lowest vapor pressure at temperatures above 1650°C (3000°F) and has the highest tensile strength. Tungsten also has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion of any pure metal. This combination of properties makes tungsten the ideal material for evaporation sources. During evaporation, it can alloy with some materials such as Al or Au. In this case, another evaporation source material should be used such as alumina coated boats or baskets. Other materials useful for evaporation sources are molybdenum and tantalum.
We provide a wide range of wire products to serve applications in major electronics products, thermocouples, high temperature furnace parts, and welding requirements.Tungsten Wire, a precision wire, with its very high tensile strength even at a very small diameter, and good electrical conductivity is widely used for thermocouples, electronic devices, and lighting. Our wire is 99.95% pure and has high strength and excellent ductility. It is used in welding, electronics and wire mesh grids for the space industries. Tungsten Wire is a staple in thermocouples and electronics products.
